We mainly use synthetic ruby and quartz for faceted gem practice. These materials are perfect for learning and training.
2. Why do we use synthetic stones?
Because they are harder to crack, allowing students to focus on technique without worrying about damaging valuable stones.
3. Can I become a professional cutter after this course?
This course is designed to teach the basic techniques and help you understand the strengths and weaknesses of each cutting style. It’s a solid foundation to decide which method suits your business or personal goals best.
4. What if I don’t want to become a gem cutter? Why should I study?
Even if you don’t plan to cut professionally, learning gem cutting helps you:
• Understand cut quality when buying or selling gems
• Evaluate stones for recutting to increase value
• Communicate clearly with professional cutters
It’s essential knowledge for gem dealers, jewelers, and anyone in the gemstone trade.
5. Do I need any experience before joining?
No experience is needed! Our course is designed for complete beginners as well as gem traders, jewelry designers, and hobbyists.
6. Do I get to keep the stones I cut?
Yes! All the stones you cut during the course are yours to take home.
7. Will I get a certificate after the course?
Yes, all students receive a Certificate of Completion after finishing the course.
8. What languages do you teach in?
The course is taught in English and Thai.
9. Can I choose which style to focus on?
Yes! In short classes, you can choose one style (Facetron, Jambpeg, or Handpiece). In the full course, you’ll learn all five styles.
10. What tools or equipment do I need to bring?
You don’t need to bring anything. We provide all tools, materials, machines, and stones.
11. Can I continue practicing after the course ends?
Yes! We offer options for additional practice time or private refresher sessions (ask us for rates).
12. Where is your studio located?
We are in central Bangkok, right in the heart of the gem trade district, close to Silom and Charoen Krung Road.
13. Is the schedule flexible?
Yes. For private or short courses, we can adjust the schedule to fit your availability (subject to studio hours).
14. How many students per class?
We teach 1–2 students at a time to ensure personalized attention and hands-on experience.
